The hard work of WWC volunteers doesn’t end with the good weather. OUR continuing habitat and trail rehabilitation projects sometimes provide a wonderful woodland discovery…..Our President Tim Sisson recently found these cool signs of critters in the corridor and reports one very lucky find…….
“John Klein found the deer skull with a nice set of antlers at Whitetail Woods yesterday during our project.
I found the left antler in the second picture on WWC property on Sisters Hill (Bender Mountain) this morning. I immediately remembered finding one in the same area last spring. When I got home I compared them and I’m sure the one I found last spring (the one on the right) forms a set with the one I found this morning. I don’t know what the odds are, but it must be pretty rare to find two antlers six months apart that are a set from the same buck.”
